وجاء في بيان صحفي أصدره مكتب المدعي العام، أن الطائرة من طراز "بي إي-58"، حيث كانت في طريقها من مدينة برشلونة شمالي البلاد إلى منطقة مارغريتا السياحية قبالة الساحل الشمالي للدولة الواقعة في أمريكا الجنوبية عندما سقطت. ولم يحدد سبب تحطم الطائرة بعد. وفتح المدعي العام تحقيقا في الحادث، وفقا للبيان.

CARACAS: Six people died on Saturday after a small plane crashed in Venezuela, authorities said Sunday, China's Xinhua news agency reported.
The BE-58 aircraft was en route from the northern Venezuelan city of Barcelona to the touristic area of Margarita off the South American country's northern coast when it went down, according to a press release from the attorney general's office.
