مقتل شخصين في تحطم طائرة خفيفة بنيوزيلاندا

لقي شخصان حتفهما اليوم السبت اثر تحطم طائرة خفيفة من طراز سيسنا فى قاعدة تابعة للقوات الجوية الملكية بنيوزيلندا بمنطقة وينواباى فى مدينة اوكلاند.
حيث أفاد شهود العيان بأنهم شاهدوا الطائرة وقعت في نهاية المدرج بعد أقلاعها ويرجح شهود العيان بأن الطائرة وقعت في ستول مما أدى إلى سقوط مقدمتها بشكل حاد إلى أن أرتطمت بالارض.
وقال شهود لقناة "تى فى 3" التليفزيونية المحلية ان الطائرة بدت وكأنها تستعد للهبوط لكنها توقفت فجأة وانحرفت بشدة ناحية اليمين قبل ان تصطدم بالارض. واشارت تقارير اخبارية الى ان الضحيتين مدنيان ولم يكن هناك سواهما على متن الطائرة. ولم يسفر الحادث عن عن اى خسائر على الارض.

WELLINGTON (New Zealand) - TWO people died in a light airplane crash Saturday at an air force base in northern New Zealand, police said.
Eyewitnesses said the airplane nose-dived and plowed into the ground at the Royal New Zealand Air Force base at Whenuapai near the city of Auckland.
Police Inspector Turepu Keenan said both occupants of the Cessna plane were killed in the crash. The base is used by airplane and skydiving clubs.
The aircraft crashed at the end of the runway shortly after it apparently stalled, an eyewitness told TV3 Network News.
'It seemed to fly over the air base. It did a very sharp right-hand turn and got into a stall situation,' he told the network. Then it just headed straight for the ground.'
Further details, including the identities of the airplane occupants, were not immediately available.
'No one on the ground was injured in the accident and civil aviation will be investigating,' base spokesman Lisa D'Oliveira said.
The plane's pilot 62-year-old Wayne Matthews died instantly with his sole passenger Brent Baldwin, 46, when the Thorp S-18 crashed Saturday at Whenuapai near Auckland.
Matthews was a retired air force commander who recently set a record for a solo flight around New Zealand.
