JOHOR BARU: The pilot on board a Cessna two-seater aircraft that crashed in Gunung Pulai on Monday morning has been found alive.
Singaporean Sanjay Purushottam, between 30 and 40 years old, is believed to be injured but able to speak.
He was spotted by an army air unit at 4.30pm and as of press time at 7.30pm, rescue operations are still underway to extricate him from the aircraft.

Sanjay’s plane, believed to be from the Elite Flying Club, went missing after the plane took off from Senai airport in Johor Baru.
Kulaijaya OCPD Supt Zulkefly Yahya confirmed that Sanjay had been found alive and that the search and rescue team had spotted the burning wreckage in Gunung Pulai.
The aircraft, which had taken off at around 9.40am, was headed to Malacca.
The plane was supposed to
have landed at 10.50am but when there was no sign of the aircraft, the air control tower in Malacca alerted its counterparts in Johor Baru.
Supt Zulkefly said that the air control tower in Johor then traced the aircraft’s last point of contact to be somewhere in Gunung Pulai in Kulai Jaya before it went off the radar.

An operations centre was set up at the Dewan Kampung Seri Pulai to coordinate the rescue mission.
It is learnt the weather has not been favourable for flying because of strong winds and poor visibility.
When contacted, a member of the Elite Flying
Club declined to elaborate on the crash, but confirmed that Sanjay had been found alive.
