Hi friends,
This is called FLUX DETECTOR , the function of flux detector is to detect or collect the Earth magnetic field and produce emf proportion to earth 's magnetic field this works on principle of EMI(Electro Magnetic Induction )
And it should be remain Horizontally so it can indicate the remote magnetic heading of aircraft
IT INDICATES THE HEADING OF AIRCRAFT.

this section contain the Weather radar also at the front , and back side the flux detector. and reason why it is mounted on the wing tip is that the propeller is on front area and no space to mount the weather radar there.*
