إحدى الولايات الامريكية تقع على شاطئ المحيط الاطلسي في شرق البلاد.

كانت كارولاينا الشمالية من بين المستعمرات ال13التي ثارت ضد الحكم البريطاني خلال فترة الثورة الامريكية

وأما عاصمتها الاقتصادية فهي مدينة شارلوت الواقعة في الجزء الغربي من الولاية.

تُعدّ المنطقة الرئيسية لزراعة التبغ وصنع منتجاته ومهمة أيضًا في إنتاج المنسوجات والأثاث الخشبي

ومن أشهر شخصيات الولاية السيدة فيرجينيا دير Virginia Dare وهي أول سيدة أمريكية تولد لأبوين إنجليزيين، والممثلة الأمريكية الشهيرة أفا جاردنرAva Gardener ، وولاية نورث كارولينا هي أيضا مسقط رأس الواعظ المسيحي الشهير بيللي جراهام Billy Graham الذي ساعد الرئيس الأمريكي جورج بوش في التخلص من عادة الإفراط في شرب الخمور

عاصمتها السياسية مدينة رالي وتقع في منتصف الولاية
