Light aircraft crashes into mountain in Ukraine, killing three KIEV 05 July 2012, KIEV. July 5. KAZINFORM A light aircraft Diamond DA-42 crashed into a mountain in western Ukraine on Wednesday while trying to land at upland, killing all three people on board, authorities said Thursday. "The plane belonged to the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine. The aircraft overflew the border, keeping track of illegal channels of cross-border movements," the Emergency Ministry said. The small plane went down around 3:00 p.m. local time (1300 GMT) in a rural area near Mochar village in Transcarpathia region, the ministry said. The plane got into trouble an hour after take-off when it was struck with engine problems and failed to land safely, it said. The plane's wreckage was found Wednesday night, the ministry said, adding that 480 rescuers remained at the scene to eliminate the consequences of the accident. The aircraft crash in Transcarpathia was the second plane accident during this week in Ukraine.
