Pursuant to Section 1552.3 of Title 49, Code of Federal Regulations, an individual may receive flight training at a U.S. flight school only if the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) determines that the individual does not pose a threat to aviation or national security.
Based upon materials available to TSA, it has been determined that you pose a threat to aviation or national security. Accordingly, your training request is denied.
If you believe that TSA’s determination is incorrect, you may seek redress from the TSA. To the extent permissible by law, upon written request, but no later than 60 days from the date of this notice, the TSA will provide you the relevant information on which the determination was based. However, the TSA cannot disclose classified information, as defined in Executive Order 12968 section 1.1(d), or other information protected from disclosure under law. Should you make no request for relevant information, the TSA’s denial will automatically be finalized 60 days from the date of this notice. If you request relevant information, you have 30 days after receipt of that relevant information to submit any additional reply or supplemental documentation, after which the TSA will make a final decision.

Individuals who believe they have been incorrectly identified as a security threat should direct their concerns by email or through the U.S. Mail service. Redress requests may be sent to: [email protected] , or if you choose to send by regular mail, sent to the following address:

Office of Security Policy & Industry Engagement
