The third class medical costs approximately $120. If you plan on flying commercially in the USA then you need at least a 2nd class medical certificate and that costs approximately $170.
The normal training progression is
- Private Pilots license in about 8-9 weeks, sooner if everything cooperates (weather, planes, skills).
- Time building phase. You need to fly and build cross country hours. (50 hrs of x-c required for the Instrument rating).
- Instrument Rating! All License and ratings are an accomplishment but this rating takes lots of work (at least it did for me)
- More time building. The Commercial License requires 250 hrs and at this point you probably have about 160 hrs.
- Commercial License training will start at approxametly 210 hours. which will include your multi engine training and single engine commercial maneauvers.
