قالت الشرطة في جنوب أفريقيا اليوم إن تسعة أشخاص بينهم أربعة أطفال لقوا حتفهم في تحطم طائرة خفيفة وسط الجبال في شمال شرق جنوب البلاد.
وذكرت المصادر أن الطائرة كانت في طريقها من مطار كروجر مبومالانجا الدولي قرب متنزه كروجر الوطني ذائع الصيت إلى مدينة بلويمفونتين عندما اختفت يوم أمس الأحد وسط طقس سيئ. ووجد عمال الإغاثة اليوم جثث الطيار وعائلتين - كل منهما له طفلين - في إقليم مبومالانجا القريب من الحدود مع موزمبيق.
ولم يتضح على الفور سبب الحادث بيد أنه يعتقد أن مستوى الرؤية المنخفض بسبب الضباب كان وراء الحادث

JOHANNESBURG (AFP) - Nine people, including four children, were killed when their light plane crashed in South Africa's mountainous province of Mpumalanga, a police spokesman said Monday.
Everyone on board the aircraft -- the pilot, two couples and their four children -- died in the crash Sunday, police superintendent Abie Khobane told AFP.
The crash site was only found Monday as heavy mist over the mountains hampered rescuers' efforts.
"The aircraft was located on Monday. Nine people were killed, including four children," Superintendent Abie Khobane told AFP.
The plane took off Sunday from the airport serving the world-famous Kruger National Park, heading for the town of Tempe.
The pilot lost contact with air traffic controllers and failed to arrive at his destination, according to the Aeronautical Rescue Co-ordination Centre.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
In February, two people were killed in a micro aircraft accident in the central province of Free State.
