i have a question about planning your flight before rocking on !!

how can i know my best time to get start to descent from 32000

and how to glide in the best level during abbroach ,,, these days i'm flying C-130 ,, i learned flying vor navigation flights , but still don't know how to glide well !! please give me a way to do it

I can answer your first question

there is a formula to calculate your top of descent and the answer is in NM

Your ALT-the ALT you want to descend to divided by 1000 multiply by 3 +5

For example

32000 -4000 =28000 feet

28000 /1000 = 28

28 multiply by 3 = 84

84+5=89 NM
