In 1997 the Moncton Flight College recognized a deficiency in most flight training schools and responded with the Diploma in Aviation Technology (PILOT) program. This innovative program allows students to not only receive professional flight training, but acquire an accredited diploma. This combination of extensive technical knowledge and academic concentration within a 20-month period gives our Diploma graduates the confidence required in today`s aviation environment.

Over the 20 months the Diploma in Aviation Technology (PILOT) students will undergo the Integrated Commercial Pilot Flying Curriculum, receive approximately 1200 hours of Academic schooling, receive certification in Aviation Safety Management as a Company Aviation Safety Officer (CASO), receive certification in Crew Resource Management, undergo extensive training in two crew operations and advanced turbine operations within our approved level 5 King Air 200 flight simulator and so much more. Below you will find a brief synopsis of the training curriculum and outline for the Diploma in Aviation Technology (PILOT) program.

Pre-Entry Requirements:
Before a student`s application can be processed the following documents must be received:

1. MFC admission application
2. Academic Transcripts (High School, Post Secondary, University)
3. Application fee of $100.00 (international $200.00)
4. Completed Category 1 medical report.

Medical Requirements:
Students applying to MFC should make arrangements to have a Category I aviation medical as soon as possible in the application process. A list of approved medical examiners in your area should be with your application package or available on request from MFC Student Services. You will only be accepted into the MFC Integrated Commercial Pilot course if your medical has been successfully completed by an approved aviation Medical Examiner. You must have received a Category 1 Medical Certificate from Transport Canada prior to going for your first solo flight.

Age Requirements:
Students must be at least 17 years old to be accepted in this program and 18 by course completion

Educational Requirements:
Students must have a secondary school diploma or equivalent to be accepted in this program.

Previous Flying Experience Credits:
Students applying for the Diploma program with a Private Pilot Licence have the option of getting tail wheel training and upset / aerobatic training. In these cases, only a maximum of 20 dual hours and 10 solo hours can be used in the ICPC training records.

Other options and credits are also available for students with previous flying experience. Please contact us to determine what best suits your future needs. I
