According to news sources, engine of Dubai-bound aircraft of a Emirates
A330 A6-EAQ has caught fire at Karachi Airport.

Passengers are being evacuated from the aircraft. The engine caught fire when the aircraft was taxiing or was on runway, according to news sources.

News sources have confirmed it as Emirates Karachi to Dubai flight EK-609.
Aircraft cabin also got filled with smoke, according to news sources.
Emirates Airbus A330-243 (A6-EAQ) that had arrived in Karachi as flight EK-908 from Dubai today.
According to news sources, the aircraft was taxiing when its cabin got filled with smoke. Passengers were evacuated through emergency slides. Aircraft is surrounded by fire tenders and other emergency vehicles.

All 82 passengers of flight EK-609 shifted to lounge.

Flights operation has resumed at Karachi Airport.


Flight EK-609 passengers will be flown to Dubai by Emirates flight EK-603, according to news sources.

EK-603 is expected to depart from Karachi at 10:30 PM. Flight EK-603 most likely will be performed by Emirates Airbus A330-243 registration A6-EKW that landed at Karachi Airport at 9:07 PM as flight EK-602 from Dubai.
