إحتكت طائرتان ليلة الأحد في مطارِ سان فرانسيسكو الدولي عندما كانتا تدفعان خارج بوابة الصالات.
لم يصب أحد بأي أذى في هذا الاحتكاك الذي وقع بين طائرة B757 مملوكة لشركة يونايتد إيرلاينزِ والطائرة أخرى مملوكة لشركة سكاي وست الكندية (Skywest) كان على متنها 54 راكب ومتجه إلى كندا ، أضطروا إلى إنزالهم وإسكانهم في فندق إلى حين يتم تأمين وسيلة نقل أخرى لهم.
وفتح تحقيق بذلك لمعرفة ملابسات الحادث .
وقع الإصطدام حول 7:30 مساءً عند البوابتين رقم 79 و80 ، وتسبب الاحتكاك في أضرار جسيمة لكلتا الطائرتين في مؤخرة ذيل الطائرة.

Planes Leaving Gates Collide at San Francisco Airport
SAN FRANCISCO — Two planes collided Sunday night at San Francisco International Airport as they were pushed away from adjacent gates, and federal investigators were studying evidence on Monday to try to determine why it happened.
No one was injured in the accident, but the slow-moving collision of the two airplanes, a nearly empty United Airlines Boeing 757 and a Skywest commuter jet carrying 54 passengers, caused heavy damage to both tails.
The collision occurred about 7:30 p.m. outside Terminal 3 between Gates 79 and 80, said a spokeswoman for United Airlines, the operator of both the 757 and the Skywest plane, a Canadian Regional Jet 700 and part of the United Express fleet.
