- Graduate of a Military or Civilian Aircraft Engineering/Maintenance Technical Academy/Institute
- At Least four years post graduation experience of aircraft structural repairs, fabrication of aircraft metal and composite structures, with knowledge of airframe construction and repair of aircraft structures.
- Experience of performing sheet metal inspections and repairs including heat treatment and cold forming. Operates various types of powered hand operated forming equipment, works from engineering drawings and plans repair details.
- Will have experience in performing function such as design, repair, modification or troubleshooting aircraft structural inspection and repair situations. Use of powered and non-powered workshop tooling machinery.
- Use of precision measuring tools, identification of types of corrosion and corrosion removal techniques.
- Able to display a full understanding of the importance and requirements of Safety and Quality standards in an Aircraft Engineering Environment and an ability to apply these standards to work carried out.
