لقي ثلاثة أشخاص مصرعهم، وأصيب أربعة آخرون جراء حادث تحطم طائرة مائية في جزيرة روتنست غرب أستراليا. وقال مفوض شرطة غرب أستراليا، إن الطائرة مملوكة للقطاع الخاص، وقد سقطت في المياه بالقرب من جزيرة روتنست الليلة الماضية. وأضاف أنه من المتوقع أن تكون الطائرة قد ضربت بعد وقت قصير من الإقلاع. وأكدت الشرطة الأسترالية، أن سبعة أشخاص كانوا على متن الطائرة،من ضمنهم الطيار. بدوره،أعلن أنجوس ميتشل، المفوض الرئيسي لمكتب سلامة النقل الأسترالي، بدء التحقيق في الحادث. يذكر أنه في يناير الجاري، وقع حادث تحطم طائرة خفيفة قبالة الساحل الشمالي الأوسط لولاية نيو ساوث ويلز الأسترالية، ما أودى بحياة شخصين.

A light aircraft has crashed during takeoff at a popular tourist destination in Australia, killing three people and injuring three others. The privately owned Cessna 208 Caravan plane crashed into the sea after taking off from Rottnest Island, about 30km (18.6 miles) west of Perth, at about 4pm local time, authorities said on Wednesday. Three people have died and their bodies have been recovered from the wreckage of a seaplane crash on Rottnest Island, WA Premier Roger Cook has confirmed. The plane plunged into the water shortly after take-off in Thomson Bay on Tuesday afternoon, with seven people on board. "The bodies of three deceased were recovered from the wreckage by water police divers last night," Mr Cook said at a press conference on Wednesday morning. He said they included a 65-year-old woman believed to be a Swiss tourist, a 60-year-old man believed to be a tourist from Denmark, and the 34-year-old pilot of the aircraft who is from Perth.
